Project Response, Inc. Honored as Nonprofit of the Year by Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce**
Melbourne, FL, Nov. 18, 2024 – Project Response, Inc., a leading HIV/AIDS Wellness Center serving the Space and Treasure Coasts, has been named Nonprofit of the Year by the Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce at its annual awards ceremony held on November 15, 2024. This prestigious award recognizes the organization’s exceptional contributions to the community and its tireless commitment to improving lives.
“We are deeply honored to receive this recognition,” said Erik Hendrickson-Cruz, Executive Director of Project Response. “This award is a reflection of the dedication of our team, the resilience of the individuals we serve and the unwavering support from our community. Together, we are making a difference.”
Since its founding in 1990, Project Response has been at the forefront of the fight against HIV/AIDS, providing a wide array of services, including free testing, prevention education, medical care, mental health counseling, and social support programs. The organization continues to address the pressing needs of individuals living with HIV/AIDS, helping them not only manage the disease but thrive.
This recognition comes as Project Response prepares to mark its 35th year of service in 2025. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services and outreach, recently opening a state-of-the-art facility in Melbourne to better serve the community.
The award underscores the ongoing need for the services provided by Project Response, especially as Florida remains one of the states with the highest rates of new HIV diagnoses.
