Our History

Project Response, Inc. was established in 1990 and began as a grass roots volunteer agency that operated from a shared office. It was and is still a lifeline for people living with HIV/AIDS on the Space Coast and an Educational and testing resource for both the Space Coast and Treasure Coast areas. Our agency has grown exponentially in response to the rates of HIV infection in our communities. As a community-based HIV/AIDS organization and case management agency, Project Response strives to provide the essential services to our clients to assist them in managing HIV disease successfully.

As we are forever striving to meet our stated mission, in October 2017 we opened the Project Response Testing and Treatment Center (PRTTC) for expanded services to all residents in Brevard County. PRTTC will continue to provide free HIV testing and now offers free Hepatitis Screenings and provides testing and treatment for those and other Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) at a nominal fee. We were the first non-profit in Brevard county to provide PrEP and PEP treatment protocols, also. Please see the Testing and Treatment Center tab for more information about the specific medical services we provide.

Project Response, Inc. continues to be a resource for all ages, occupations, businesses and agencies throughout the county, such as parents, educators, non-profit programs that need information and tools to educate others and to stop the spread of HIV.

Through our case management programs, Project Response links clients to medical care, pharmaceuticals, dental care, mental health counseling, and various support groups. The agency provides rent, mortgage, and utilities assistance; emergency financial assistance; food pantry services; insurance continuation services; and transportation. See Client Services tab for more information.

In addition, Project Response provides HIV prevention services and HIV counseling, testing, and linkage to care. The agency works to counter the destructive effects of HIV-related stigma through community partnerships and appearances at special events. See Community Outreach Programs for more details.

Project Response is funded through the Ryan White CARE Act, Florida Medicaid, Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA), the Florida Department of Health, United Way of Brevard County, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and the generosity of individual donors. See Client Services tab for more details or go to our Donations tab if you would like to contribute to our mission.

If you need more specific information that may not be detailed on our Web Page, please contact us today for more information about Project Response and our services.
